"Guatemala Handicraft Exhibition - Simbiótica" is an exhibit that showcases unique and innovative works, created by incorporating contemporary art with traditional weaving techniques, and it is also a platform for reaching out to the international communities to share the beauty of Guatemalan culture. The exhibit is the result of a project, led by the Handicraft Committee of the Guatemala Exporter Association, with the cooperation of the designers and local women, showing the symbiotic relationship of traditional weaving techniques and contemporary artistic design, and its goal is to help improve the life of local women.

The exhibit will include various items that incorporate traditional weaving and artistic design, such as handmade rugs, clothing, home fabrics, jewelry, paintings and others. It is the hope of the organizers that this event may help by promoting fine Guatemalan handicraft, and in finding import vendors, in order to increase bilateral exchanges between Taiwan and Guatemala. The general public that is interested in Guatemalan hand-woven art is also welcome to visit Gallery 101 at Taipei 101 during the exhibition.
