2010 Taiwan International Cultural Creative Industry Expo: The Central America Pavilion
2010-11-12
The 2010 Taiwan International Cultural Creative Industry Expo will take place November 11-14, 2010 under the auspices of the Council for Cultural Affairs, Executive Yuan, in association of the General Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of China (ROCCOC) and Bright Ideas Design. At the request of ROCCOC, the Central America Trade Office will sponsor the expo and promote the Mayan and Inca cultures indigenous to Central America. The expo attracts a tremendous number of top-notch designers from the local cultural/creative industry as well as representatives of manufacturers and marketing channels, hence a short-cut to promoting the distinctive culture and creativity of Central America.
The expo, which is Taiwan's first large-scale exhibition under the theme of cultural and creative industry, will feature Central American handicrafts in gallery-inspired displays at the “Pavilion for Central American Cultural and Creative Artifacts”. The host of the pavilion will take the opportunity to observe the response of Taiwanese sales channels to the market potential of Central American handicrafts, consult with related trade guilds and, through a two-way sharing of resources, launch in 2011 a multi-stage traveling exhibition of Central American cultural and creative artifacts in Taiwan as a revolutionary model of business partnership.
As the Central American handicrafts reflect how rich the region’s artistic and cultural essences are, and Taiwan boasts extraordinary craftsmanship, packaging techniques and an expertise in making design concepts a part of everyday life, the expo will hopefully encourage tie-ups among exhibitors from both regions. In other words, the front-end manufacturers in Central America and Taiwan-based logistics providers, such as packaging and marketing firms, may team up to create value-added business opportunities for Central American handicrafts and eventually explore the global market.
