El Salvador Recorded Double-figure Growth in Import and Export during January~May 2010

El Salvador grew by 12.3% of exports attained during January~May 2010 over the corresponding period of the preceding year, in amount up to US$1.83 billion. The top three export categories are traditional, non-traditional products and textiles. On the other hand, El Salvador recorded growth in imports as well, growing by 16.4% over the corresponding period of the preceding year, in amount up to US$3.3966 billion. The El Salvadorian Central Bank analytically pointed out that the major imports include intermediary properties, textile machinery & equipment and consumables, growing by 32.1%, 22.6% and 6.7% respectively. The imported capital properties dropped by 3.3%.
