Guatemala Economy will grow by 1.3%~2.1% in 2010

The monthly statistics conducted by Instituto Nacional de Estadística (INE) of Guatemala indicate in 2009, the inflation rate in Guatemala was negative 0.28%. Starting from December 2009, nevertheless, the inflation rate started rising, up to 3.75% April 2010. The Guatemalan Central Bank estimates that the inflation rate will hit 5.84% by 2011. To put it in more understandable terms, the inflation rates during 2010~2011 will be around 4%~6%. Notwithstanding the rising inflation, the Guatemalan Central Bank still optimistically anticipates the economic growth between 1.3% and 2.1% in 2010.
