Taiwan-made movie “Design 7 Love” won the Grand Remi Award for best feature at the 48th WorldFest-Houston International Film and Video Festival April 19 in the U.S.
The 2014 movie by director Chen Hung-i beat out 50 other nominations to claim top honor. A total of 4,500 titles competed for prizes this year at the world’s oldest independent film festival.
“Winning the award is recognition of all the hard work put in by the cast, crew and director,” said Tiffany Ann Hsu, who plays the female lead Doris in the movie.
“Design 7 Love” follows the story of Doris and six other characters tangled up in seven different urban romance scenarios. Hsu’s stellar performance won her a best new performer nomination at Taiwan’s Golden Horse Film Festival last year, in addition to a best visual effects nomination for the film.
Currently screening at the Beijing International Film Festival and Singapore Chinese Film Festival, the movie will also show at the upcoming Cross-strait Film Festival May 22-27 in Taipei City.
