TAITRA wins UFI Marketing Award

2014-09-15

Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) won this year’s Marketing Award from Union of International Fairs for a total mobile solution used at Computex Taipei.

The award, regarded as the Oscar of the exhibition industry, is the highest honor TAITRA has received since its establishment 41 years ago.

“Judges were impressed by a software package that integrated navigation and social media such as Facebook and Twitter,” a TAITRA official said Sept. 11. “The marketing team led by TAITRA Executive Vice President Walter Yeh also developed entrance tickets that combined EasyCard transportation system access.”

The app was used by more than 10,000 people at Computex this year, according to the council.

UFI’s Marketing Committee Chairman Christian Glasmacher praised TAITRA’s groundbreaking innovation. “TAITRA’s mobile technology accompanies Computex visitors and exhibitors throughout their trade show journey,” he said. “While many of us are still experimenting with these exciting new opportunities, TAITRA has already integrated a mobile solution which provides a wide array of information across the full range of mobile devices.”

The award will be presented Nov. 1 at the 81st UFI Congress in Bogota, Colombia. Established in 1925, the Paris-based union has more than 600 members from 85 countries.

This year’s Computex Taipei, the largest information and communications technology trade show in Asia and second largest in the world, was held June 3-7 at Taipei World Trade Center.
