Taiwan TV series on display in French Series Mania
2025/03/27
Taiwan Creative Content Agency launched a pavilion at Series Mania March 21 in the northern French city of Lille to facilitate the spread of local programs into the global market.
This year marked TAICCA’s fourth appearance at the event, which is Europe’s largest TV series festival. The agency is showcasing 76 works through March 28.
During the March 25 Series Mania Forum, the pavilion displayed outstanding domestic TV series through physical and online exhibitions. According to the agency, the exhibited pieces included the second season of “Fragrance of the First Flower,” whose first season was shortlisted in the 2021 Series Mania Short Forms Competition.
Additionally, TAICCA and Series Mania jointly chose five projects to feature at the Taiwan Spotlight Pitching Session March 25. Among the selected proposals were the spy drama “Fly,” created by author Chang Kuo-Li and set to be produced by the Paris-headquartered Cinéfrance Studios and the Taipei City-based Yoosonn Entertainment, and the comedy show “Fanteasia,” the story of a drag queen fighting for gender equality in mainstream culture.
During the session the members of the five groups worked directly with international investors, TV series buyers and other professionals to enhance visibility for domestic shows.
With support from the Ministry of Culture’s Bureau of Audiovisual and Music Industry Development, TAICCA also collaborated with Series Mania Institute to cultivate talent by conducting an 8-month Serial Bridges Asia program, where the participants could gain insights into production, marketing and distribution, and the production of scripts, the agency added.
TAICCA Chair Homme Tsai said he hoped that the teams showcasing their projects would soon have upcoming co-productions with global partners to announce.
