The Ministry of Foreign Affairs held a seminar June 27 titled “Building Sustainability and Resilience into Food Systems through Digital Transformation” in Geneva on the sidelines of World Trade Organization’s Aid for Trade Global Review June 26-28, demonstrating the country’s capacity to assist allies in international trade.
Organized by the MOFA, during the forum presentations were made by Taipei City-based International Cooperation and Development Fund, Data Yoo Application Co., and Saint Lucia’s Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Food Security and Rural Development. All shared how Taiwan facilitates allied nations in promoting food security through the public and private sectors.
As a responsible member of the WTO and the international community, Taiwan has actively contributed experience to global cooperative projects. The symposium highlighted the country’s use of digital technology to construct more resilient production systems, enhance agricultural produce marketing, counter climate change and raise economic development.
The event’s goal of assisting developing countries to advance economic growth through trade has seen Taiwan playing an active role in staging activities in the Aid for Trade Global Review.
