Taiwan startups to showcase innovative tech at CES in Las Vegas

A delegation of 96 Taiwan-based tech startups will attend the Consumer Electronics Show Jan. 9-12 in Las Vegas to strengthen connections with overseas investors and spotlight the country’s technology prowess.
Organized by the Cabinet-level National Science and Technology Council, the group comprises firms in such fields as artificial intelligence and robotics, digital health, smart cities and sustainability, smart homes, sports and vehicle tech, and advanced mobility.
Two participating companies are recipients of the CES 2024 Innovation Awards. Hsinchu City-headquartered FaceHeart Corp. for its FaceHeart Vitals, an AI-driven and video-based contactless process for measuring vital signs like heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation and stress index. Equally impressive is Tainan City-based TSGC Technologies Inc., which was recognized for its PV Circulator equipment that recycles solar panels with zero pollution.
During a press conference held Dec. 27 in Taipei City, NSTC Minister Wu Tsung-tsong said Taiwan plays a key role in the global semiconductor supply chain. The council’s policy for the next decade will focus on innovations for chip applications, which he foresees as a cross-sector driver of growth and a key draw for more international startups.
According to the NSTC, the delegation’s startups will showcase their products at the Taiwan Tech Arena pavilion. The TTA, launched in 2018 by the NSTC to foster the country’s entrepreneurship and innovation, will also jointly host bilateral meetings and participate in road shows with participants from France, Japan, Luxembourg, Singapore, South Korea, the Netherlands and the U.S., the council said.
In addition, the NSTC-supported Taiwan Science and Technology Hub located at Stanford University will stage a concurrent international seminar Jan. 8 in Las Vegas to introduce the country’s five-year chip-based industrial innovation program.
