Third MOFA Award for Outstanding Research in International law

Awards for the third Ministry of Foreign Affairs Award for Outstanding Research in International Law were made by MOFA Deputy Minister Tien Chung-kwang at a ceremony Dec. 20 in Taipei City.
 
Tien expressed congratulations and encouraged winners to undertake further research on emerging issues spanning the Rome statute of the international criminal court, the international law of the sea and legal aspects pertinent to cyber norms, the environment, human rights and international organizations.
 
The deputy minister stressed government commitment to observing global regulations and urged the recipients to join the ranks of ministry personnel furthering Taiwan diplomacy worldwide.
 
Awardees included a National Taiwan University Department of Law undergraduate and National Chengchi University and Soochou University Departments of Law graduate students, respectively. Excellence awards went to National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University Institute of Technology Law, National Chengchi University Department of Diplomacy, National Taiwan Ocean University Institute of the Law of the Sea graduate students and an undergraduate and a graduate from NTU Department of Law.
 
Established in 2020 by the MOFA, the scholarships seek to cultivate personnel, encourage relevant research and enhance diplomacy, the ministry said. It added that the initiative has received wide recognition and youth are welcome to make research contributions in associated fields and participate in the project.
