Taiwan to continue limited ferry services to China
2023/02/07
Direct ferry links between Taiwan and China are set to continue beyond Feb. 6 to offer more convenient travel and pave the way for a full resumption of the Mini Three Links, according to the Mainland Affairs Council.
The extension, set to take effect from Feb. 7, offers continued but limited ferry services for residents of Kinmen and Matsu and their Chinese spouses, the MAC said. There will still be a once-daily ferry trip between Kinmen and Xiamen and no more than four trips per week to and from Matsu, it added.
Under the extension, the service between Kinmen and Quanzhou will resume, with no more than two trips a week, the MAC said.
According to the MAC, the plan will be adjusted on a rolling basis according to actual operational requirements and any pandemic developments. Epidemic prevention border measures will follow those implemented by the Ministry of Health and Welfare for flights, the council said.
