Kenting National Park located at Taiwan’s southernmost tip was named one of the 18 most underrated places in Asia in an online story published Dec. 22 by CNN Travel.
The list was compiled based on a survey of the network’s staff and contributors about where locals visit. According to the network, Kenting is located in a sunny, laid-back peninsula know for its white sandy beach, vibrant night market and chill vibes.
The article recommended taking a stroll in Eluanbi Park and visiting the lighthouse, one of Taiwan’s eight iconic landmarks; walking down to the southernmost tip of Taiwan to watch the sunset; and taking a dip at Baishawan, where several scenes from Academy Award-winning film “Life of Pi” were shot.
Visitors should also make a stop at Longpan Park to take in the panoramic view of the area’s rugged coastline. It characterized the majestic cliffs and grassy hills as amazing and added that the area’s open space and lack of artificial lighting made it a good place for watching sunsets and stargazing.
