Taiwan’s deep condolences to SKorea conveyed by MOFA

The government and people of Taiwan extend sincere condolences to South Korea following the deadly stampede at a Halloween celebration in Seoul, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Oct. 29.
Following President Tsai Ing-wen’s instructions, the MOFA conveyed Taiwan’s heartfelt sympathies to Chung Byung-won, Representative of the Korean Mission in Taipei, the ministry said.
In the aftermath of the incident, the MOFA also instructed the Taipei Mission in Korea to convey deep condolences to the government of South Korea, the ministry said.
According to the MOFA, no ROC (Taiwan) nationals have been reported among the casualties.
In a tweet on its official Twitter account, the MOFA said “Our deepest condolences on the loss of life & injuries in the Itaewon incident. Thoughts & prayers to the families of the victims & heartfelt wishes for a speedy recovery to the wounded. Taiwan grieves with Korea at this difficult time.”
