Ketagalan Forum to get underway Aug. 31 in Taiwan

Ketagalan Forum 2021—Asia-Pacific Security Dialogue is set to get underway virtually Aug. 31 in Taiwan, underscoring the commitment of the government to strengthening cooperation on key regional issues between the country and other forces for good worldwide.
 
Hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Taipei City-based Prospect Foundation, the daylong event features keynote speaker Kelly Craft, former U.S. permanent representative to the U.N., as well as 16 experts, officials and academics from Taiwan, Australia, France, India, Japan, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, the U.S. and Vietnam.
 
According to the MOFA, the forum also comprises four panel discussions on matters such as Taiwan Strait contingencies, Quadrilateral Security Dialogue and the Indo-Pacific, gray zone coercion in the East and South China Seas and post-coronavirus economic outlook.
 
Prominent participants include Randall Schriver, chairman of U.S.-headquartered Project 2049 Institute; Karen Makishima, member of the Japanese House of Representatives; Peter Jennings, executive director of the Australian Strategic Policy Institute; and Bert Hofman, director of the East Asian Institute at National University of Singapore.
