2021/08/18
Immersive installation “The Tales From Where the Land Emerged” curated by Legend Archaeology Team to promote Hualien was recently named winner of the Red Dot Best of the Best Award in the brands and communication design category.
In a statement, the Hualien County Cultural Affairs Bureau said the winning exhibition was showcased at a pavilion dedicated to the eastern Taiwan metropolis at the 2021 Creative Expo Taiwan in April. The interactive artwork allows viewers to engage with the work using all five senses, the bureau added.
According to the bureau, the pavilion’s design was inspired by the stone-slab architecture of the indigenous Bunun people. The main visual installation is composed of thousands of discarded marble slabs, illustrating the beautiful and rugged nature of Hualien, the statement added.
LAT comprises a number of local artists and organizations based in Hualien, including Into the Woods & Co., JIC Media Group, Olifa Hsieh, P.Seven, Temperature, Wang Yu-hsuan and We Do Group, the bureau said.
Established in 1955, Red Dot Award is one of the largest and most distinguished industrial design competitions in the world, receiving more than 18,000 entries yearly from design professionals, companies and organizations from over 70 countries and territories.
