6 Taiwan productions set to screen at New York Asian Film Festival

A total of six productions from Taiwan are set to screen at the upcoming New York Asian Film Festival, according to the Ministry of Culture Aug. 4.
Headlining the Taiwan delegation for the 20th edition of the NYAFF are 3D animation “City of Lost Things” by director Yee Chih-yen, which is also shortlisted for the Uncaged Award for Best Feature Film Competition, as well as drama “The Silent Forest” by Ko Chen-nien.
The other Taiwan films are dark comedy “A Leg” by Chang Yao-sheng; queer drama “As We Like It” by Muni Wei and Chen Hung-i; romantic comedy “My Missing Valentine” by Chen Yu-hsun; and thriller "Piglet Piglet" by Lin Tsung-yen.
Founded in 2002, the festival honors the best of Asian cinema with awards recognizing both established and up-and-coming filmmakers and actors. Its goal is to showcase Asian talent while introducing American audiences to the immense creativity of the region, the organizers said.
The NYAFF is hosted by the Lincoln Center and School of Visual Art, with support from the MOC and Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in New York. Screenings will take place Aug. 6 to 22 at the Lincoln Center.
