Honduras Ranks Third of the Central American Countries in SME Growth Rate in 2011

According to data from the Central American Small and Medium Enterprise Development Organization(Centro Regional de Promoción de las Mipymes, Cenpromype), Honduras ranks third in the number of small and medium enterprises, and in the growth of Central American countries in 2011, behind Costa Rica and Guatemala. Honduran SME output in 2011 is about 6 billion U. S. dollars. Honduran SME Vice Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, Mr. Gunther Laínez, said that SMEs in Honduras still lack the technology for enhancement. He said that Honduras would be promoting intensive SME exchanges with the rest of the Central American countries.
