Latin American Countries’ Coffee Export Summary in the Fourth Quarter of 2011

The exported coffee volume of Latin American countries, including Honduras, between October and December 2011 was 5.40 million bags (60KG per bag). The export volume declined 0.4% compared to the same period in 2010. The exported coffee volume from Latin American countries between October and December 2010 was 5.42 million bags (60KG per bag). Of all the Latin American countries, Mexico is the country with the highest growth rate of 52.16%; followed by Honduras with 51.22%; Costa Rica grew 16.74%; while Guatemala grew16.62%. Countries with declining coffee export volumes are: Columbia declines 13.05%; El Salvador declines 24.70%; Nicaragua declines 37.74%; Dominica declines 14.13%; and Peru declines 0.85%.
