Honduras ranks third largest coffee exporter in Latin America

The la Asociación Nacional del Café de Guatemala (ANACAFE) released results of an international survey of coffee exports, with Honduras ranked the third largest coffee exporter in Latin American (excluding Brazil) over the 11 months between October 2010 and August 2011. The survey involves the region’s nine leading coffee exporters, namely Honduras, El Salvador, Columbia, Guatemala, Mexico, Nicaragua, Peru, Dominica and Costa Rica. They registered an 11.82% increase in combined exports from October 2010 to August 2011, compared to the same period a year ago. Among all Latin American countries, Dominica enjoyed the greatest year-on-year increase in coffee exports (an overwhelming 122.25%), followed by El Salvador (63.42%), Honduras (22.36%), Columbia, Peru, Mexico, Guatemala, Costa Rica and Nicaragua.
