El Salvador Coffee Exports Grew 129.6%

El Salvador Coffee Council (CSC) indicated that the total amount of Salvadoran coffee exports, from October 2010 through August 2011, was 435.09 million U. S. dollars, a growth of 129.6% compared to 189.48 million U.S. dollars in the previous period (2009-2010). During this period (2010-2011), from October last year through the end of September this year, the total up-to-date production quantity is 2,158,250 bags (46 KG per bag), an increase of 67.4% compared to the previous period of 1,288,972 bags. The CSC continued on to say that up until today (12th), the shipped and the ready to be shipped coffee of this period is 2.3 million bags, with a total dollar amount reaching 468.14 million U.S. dollars. It is the highest amount in both production and dollars in 14 years.
