The Latin American Region Ranks in the World;s Top 100 Ports in 2010

The “Economic Commission for Latin America” (CEPAL) report indicates that the 2010 world’s top 100 port rankings, with calculations based on the port cargo throughput, in which the Latin American region rankings are: in the 25th place, Balboa Port of Panama with throughput cargo of 20 million tonnes; in the 26th place, Colón Port of Panama with throughput cargo of 19 million tonnes; in the 50th place, Moin Port of Costa Rica with throughput cargo of 9.9 million tonnes; in the 58th place, Cortés Port of Honduras with throughput cargo of 8.3 million tonnes; in the 65th place, Quetzal Port of Guatemala with 7.5 million tonnes throughput cargo; in the 84th place, Santo Tomás de Castilla Port of Guatemala with 4.7 million tonnes of throughput cargo; and in the 96th place, Acajutla Port of El Salvador with 3.7 million tonnes of throughput cargo.
