Honduran Dairy Production Reaches 650 Million Liters

There are preliminary results in the cooperation between the Honduran Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry (Secretaría de Agricultura y Ganadería, SAG) and Switzerland’s Cosude in agriculture, animal husbandry and dairy products. With the help of using Swiss dairy production techniques, Honduras is currently producing 650 million liters of milk. The daily production is 1.7 million liters, and the annual production output is 2.1 billion Lampiras (equal to 140 million U.S. dollars). There are 100,000 operators in the dairy industry nationwide, of which 65% are in retail, and 35% are in the dairy processing industry.
