Central American Countries are Actively Attracting Foreign Investment

Guatemala will be holding The 15th Latin America Export Processing Zone Annual Meeting in October this year. There will be 40 countries, and more than 400 entrepreneurs attending this meeting. Guatemala will be promoting the development and business opportunities for the textile industry, showing off its potential to attract investment for the textile industry. With the joint efforts of the Guatemalan government and private industry, the meeting has gained attendance confirmations from industry vendors of Latin American countries, Spain, Portugal, the United States, Mainland China, Taiwan, the Philippines and others. Guatemalan minister of economics, Mr. Luis Velasquez, stresses firmly that the government will be establishing 6 new export processing zones in 6 cities: Guatemala, Villa Nueva, Zacapa, Quetzaltenango, Tecun Uman, and Puerto Quetzal, bringing the total export processing zones nationwide to 24.
