Honduran Coffee Exports Surge

Based on the statistical data from the Honduran Coffee Export Association (Instituto Hondureño del Café, Ihcafé), Honduran coffee exports will bring in about 1.24 billion U. S. dollar foreign exchange earnings this year. Mr. Juan José Cruz, Honduras Vice Minister of Industry and Commerce, confirmed this statistic during an interview today, and said that the accumulative exports of the Honduran coffee this year amounts to 4.77 million bags (46 kg a bag). In view of the high prices of international coffee futures, Honduran coffee exports this year may record a new high.
