According to the Ornamental Plant Committee of the Guatemalan Exporter Association, Mother’s Day has become the most important moment for Guatemalan Flora Exporters to create business opportunities, of which the United States occupies 45% of the export volume. The focus of the great demand is scions for grafting, roses, carnations, chrysanthemums, birds of paradise, lilies, gladiolus, flower arrangement materials and mosses. The sales for these products are high, particularly to the big trade partner, the United States, followed by Germany and the Netherlands.
