Trade between Taiwan and Nicaragua Continues to Grow

According to the statistics from Taiwan’s Customs, the bilateral trade from January through December in 2010 shows a significant growth: the cumulative bilateral trade from January through December in 2010 amounted to 68.2 million U. S. dollars, a growth of 73%, compared to 39.29 million U. S. dollars of the same period in 2009. In it, exports from Taiwan to Nicaragua were 33.9 million U. S. dollars, a growth of 85%; imports from Nicaragua to Taiwan were 34.3 million U. S. dollars, a growth of 63%. This not only sets a bilateral trade record for the last ten years, it also sets a record of the highest dollar amount in Taiwan’s purchasing history from Nicaragua in a single year, making Taiwan the largest Asian market for Nicaragua products.
