Guatemalan Steel Prices Rise an Average of 23.7%

According to the statistics from the Guatemala Developer Association, prices of the major construction materials made from steel rose this year. From this account, five items rose an average of 23.7%. The corrugated iron rose from US$40.84 per quintal to US$53.22 from February 2010 to February 2011, a reflection of a US$12.38 increase, that is 30.3%; Flat iron rose from US$31.54 to US$44.23, a reflection of a US$12.69 increase, or 42.2%.
