Walmart will Expand Investment in Central America

The U. S. company, Walmart, indicates that, starting from 2011, they will expand investment in the countries of the Central American region, including Mexico, in the hope of having a growth of 45% when compared to 2010. The company’s Mexico and Central American regional manager, Scott Rank, said that, in 2011,the estimated investment of the company in Mexico and Central America is 1.56 billion U. S. dollars, while the amount of investment in 2010 was 1.077 billion U. S. dollars. The company also estimates the future locations in Mexico will total 365, while the future locations in the Central America will total 80. It is estimated that in 2011, Walmart will create 20,000 job opportunities in Mexico alone.
