Honduras expected to make US$300 million through palm oil export in 2011

Honduras has been a veteran palm oil exporter. Palm oil is widely used for industries, food and is the raw materials for biodiesel. At the moment, palm trees have been planted up to 127,000 hectares in the Honduras territories. Among them, the palm trees which can be refined into palm oil cover 110,000 hectares. Also at the moment, the exportable palm oil is worth US$280 million. Where prices of raw materials & materiel are anticipated to skyrocket in 2011, Honduras is expected to make US$300 million from palm oil export in 2011.
