An Increase in Trade Among Central American Countries

After the impact of a year of economic downturn, the trade among Central American countries shows signs of recovery in 2010. The trade in this region this year increased 6% over 2009. Based on the data from Secretaría de Integración Económica Centroamericana-Sieca, the trade in this region was 2.844 billion U. S. dollars from January through July in 2010, an increase of 165 million U. S. dollars, compared with 2.6795 billion U. S. dollars of the same period last year.
