El Salvador Will Increase Trade With Cuba
2010-10-15
El Salvador’s Economy Minister, Dada, said that El Salvador has long been trading with Cuba. The 8 million U.S. dollars worth of products El Salvador exported to Cuba in 2007 is the historic high. But the Salvadoran Cuban trade is not stable: the amount of exports, from El Salvador to Cuba, between January and July 2010, is only 0.5 million dollars. There are more than 20 Salvadoran products in the Cuban market at the moment. Minister Dada pointed out that El Salvador officials and 40 companies visited Cuba on October 3, to sign a number of bilateral economic and trade cooperation memorandums. Salvadoran products that have the potential to expand in sales in Cuba are food, pharmaceutical products, medical equipment, plastics, infrastructure and tourism.
