2019 Spanish Language Day – Guatemala Pavilion

Spanish speakers are mainly concentrated in Latin American countries. There are nearly 500 million Spanish speakers around the globe. Spanish is the second major language in the world, only second to Chinese Mandarin. In Taiwan, besides the 4 universities which offer Spanish Language Degrees, there are also 22 colleges and institutes and over 100 secondary schools where Spanish is one of the selective second languages due to the active bilateral commercial activities between Taiwan and Latin America, and traditionally our most important foreign ally, along with other factors which drive the trend of Spanish learning.

“Spanish Language Day II” will be held at Songshan Cultural and Creative Park from March 30th to 31st this year. In order to encourage Taiwanese people to study Spanish in Guatemala and conduct in-depth tourism, the Embassy of Guatemala in Taiwan specially invited the National Tourism Bureau of Guatemala (INGUAT-Instituto Guatemalteco de Turismo) accompanying representatives from three local quality language schools : Mundo Spanish School / Christian Spanish Academy / San Pedro Spanish School to visit Taiwan and to participate in this event, hoping to encourage Taiwanese people to study Spanish in Guatemala, as well as to enjoy the rich and diverse tourist attractions around the country.
