Great Dominican Week

February 27 is the National Day of the Dominican Republic. To celebrate the event, a series of activities are planned to be held at the Grand Hotel between March 5 and 12. Everyone is welcome to experience the Caribbean arts and cuisine!

【Dominican Sculptures and Precious Stones Expo】
This festival features 20 paintings by renowned Dominican painters and 14 exquisite sculptures. These artworks present the warm-hearted humanistic history and magnifi-cent scenery of the Dominican Republic via the artist's skillful and unique painting and sculpting techniques! In addition, Taiwan's jewelry importers will display precious Dominican Larimar and Amber pieces during the festival period.

【Dominican Gastronomic Festival】
The cultural integration that the Dominican Republic went through during its colonial period affects its cuisine. A mixture of Spanish food and local indigenous dishes pro-duces a delectable cuisine that satisfies all senses. Its food ingredients are simple, but the tastes are amazing. The traditional Mangu (pureed plantains), Chicharrón (fried pork rinds), Catibias O Cativias (Dominican Yucca Empanadas), or the main course, baked or grilled meat with exclusive spices served with classic refried beans, a staple in Central America, is definitely the most memorable dish you have ever eaten!
