The 2016 Taipei International Food Show will be held at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center from June 22 through 25. The Central America Trade Office (CATO) has organized the Central American Pavilion for the event, and has established an "FTA, Central and Southern American Allies Zone", where trade groups that consist of vendors and official trade and economics representatives from 7 nations in Central America are invited to attend the event in Taipei, with the assistance of the Taiwan External Trade Development Council. During the exhibit, a variety of food ingredients, including coffee, dried fruits, honey, herbal teas, seafood, cocoa, rum, Noni, and extended shelf-life milk will be on display. The Central American Pavilion this year co-exhibits the products from 7 nations: Belize, Dominica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama, which cover a variety of selected Central American products, including: coffee, honey, cocoa, beef, chia seeds, sesame, red beans, 100% organic Noni fruit juice and Noni related products, organic dried fruits, Roselle (Hibiscus sabdariffa) wine, rum, Roselle Lemon herbal tea, white-leg shrimp, dried fruits, processed fruits and vegetables (such as vacuum-packed cooked yams), chocolate, extended shelf-life milk, melons, and root vegetables.
During the exhibit, there will be dedicated personnel on-site providing answers to the public, and first-rate Central American coffee and exotic Central American cuisine will be offered for free tasting daily. There will also be several talks, introducing Central American food ingredients, and cooking shows, demonstrating Central American cuisine, to be held on the stage of the Central American Pavilion. Business operators of relevant industries in Taiwan are welcome to visit and participate in the ideas exchange to develop the Central American food market in Taiwan! In addition, icook, a popular internet community website in Taiwan, will be hosting a special recipe edition on Central American cuisine, and giving away gifts to those who make comments.
