Activities to Promote Honduran Traditional Delicacies

Central America is the place of convergence and origin of Mayan culture, and Honduras is one of the prominences in displaying the culture and is characterized by its charms such as rain forest, coffee, cigar, beach, rowing a boat and snorkeling. Honduras, which blends the abundant ancient and present culture, is also regarded as a country of treasury of Central American delicacies.
During her tenure of office in Taiwan, Ms. Marlene Villela-Talbott, the Ambassador of Honduras to the Republic of China, has spared no efforts to popularize the image of Honduras. Through cooperation with the Cooking Studio of Xinyi Branch, Eslite Bookstore, the “Activities to Promote Honduran Traditional Delicacies” will be held in the afternoon of December 19, 2008. Ms. Marlene Gomez, the cook of Honduran Embassy, has been invited to demonstrate the carefully selected and the most characteristic Honduras delicacies such as ceviche and arroz con leche so as to take advantage of these delicious foods to increase the cultural exchange between Taiwan and Honduras. In addition, films of Honduran tourism and investment will be projected and presented so as to introduce the beauty of Honduran culture to the people of Taiwan.
